Pet Travel In These Easy Steps
1. Ensure you have the correct paperwork
You will need to obtain either:
- a rabies vaccination card or certificate signed by the veterinary surgeon who gave the most recent rabies vaccination. Importantly this must verify that your pet's microchip number and that the microchip was either implanted for the first time or scanned prior to the vaccination being given.
- OR we need your pet's veterinary history emailing over from your own vet from the day they had their most recent rabies vaccination. Please contact us if this is not clear.
PLUS:
- an A4 microchip certificate from the company who the microchip is registered with detailing your information plus the pet's date of birth, and the date they had the microchip IMPLANTED. This can be in email format.
Travel is possible from 21 days after the vaccination has been given (day one is counted as
the day after it was given).
2. Submit information via the online booking form
Email us at contact@pettravelvets.co.uk and we will send you a form to complete. Please also submit clear photos/scans of the rabies vaccine certificate or card and microchip certificate via email.
3. We will contact you via email or telephone
To schedule a suitable time for your home visit (this must be within 10 days of your travel date for an AHC).
4. Settle your invoice
We will email you an invoice which will need paying in advance. Your booking time will only be confirmed once payment has been made.
5. Home Visit
Your pet will be checked for fitness to fly, their microchip scanned, tapeworm treatment administed (if applicable) and the documents will be completed.
